We are so fortunate to work with nonprofits, primarily community action agencies, to ensure safe, decent, affordable housing is available to everyone. A press release about Washita Valley Community Action Council’s award follows.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency’s Board of Trustees approved a Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) award of up to $193,000 to Washita Valley Community Action Council during its March meeting. OHFA is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated state Participating Jurisdiction.
Washita Valley Community Action Council will utilize the funds to acquire and rehabilitate a single-family house for rent in to be located in the City of Chickasha. The home will feature two bathrooms and either three or four bedrooms.
The house will serve as a group home for clients of Chickasha Opportunity Center, Inc., which serves individuals with developmental disabilities.
HOME encourages local governments and nonprofit housing organizations to build new homes, rehabilitate existing housing or make structural home repairs. HOME is designed to encourage partnerships to fund construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing for low-income families, particularly in rural Oklahoma.
