Wanda DeBruler, owner of DeBruler, Inc., is known for her work as an affordable housing and nonprofit consultant. For over three decades, her efforts have channeled millions into initiatives to uplift low-income households.
Given her expertise in state and federal regulations, her firm recently advised on the HOME ARP study and has been pivotal in housing project consultations for the City of Norman, Catholic Charities, Community Action Agencies and other nonprofits. She co-founded Housing for Communities, Inc. in 2023 and the Oklahoma Coalition for Affordable Housing in 2015.
Ms. DeBruler’s career includes consulting and reviewing grants on numerous national initiatives sponsored by the Office of Community Services at the U.S. Administration for Children and Families. She has served as Executive Director for a statewide nonprofit association and held key financial and technical federal compliance roles at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
Her affiliations include actively participating in several national boards and task forces and being a former Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Credit (2005-2008). She currently volunteers as editor of the quarterly newsletter for the Oklahoma Alliance on Aging and serves on the Oklahoma Weatherization Policy Advisory Council. Ms. DeBruler’s substantial contributions have been recognized with state and federal awards. She has even contributed insights for published works such as the Oklahoma Housing Needs Assessment 2015-2020, OK Policy Institute Issue Briefs-2015, the Self-Sufficiency Standard for Oklahoma 2002, and Dr. Robert Lee Maril’s book, “Waltzing with the Ghost of Tom Joad” 2000.
Wanda’s multi-faceted experience highlights her adeptness in grants management, resource procurement, and intricate understanding of state and federal protocols. Moreover, she excels in communication, technical know-how, and coaching.
Byron DeBruler
Byron DeBruler has 25+ years of experience in community and economic development, with service to the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency, Oklahoma Department of Commerce and City of Oklahoma City. His expertise includes designing state and local service programs and initiatives, developing proposals for project financing and identifying community development resources.
Byron has drafted legislation and redesigned how state, city and private entities work together to develop housing and other necessary services for those who need it most. His recent work includes packaging applications for affordable housing projects, developing and managing project plans and providing technical assistance on a variety of community development projects.
Byron holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma.
