Disability and Accessibility Housing Update: Design & Construction

The Oklahoma Health Equity Campaign (OHEC) will host a free training titled “Disability and Accessibility Housing Update: Design & Construction,  April 20, from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Midwest City Sheraton Reed Center. This training will give a comprehensive review of accessible housing needs for people with disabilities and the federal housing laws and regulations that impact housing, health and quality of life.

Patrick Banis, J.D., Branch Chief, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity, will be the featured speaker.  In addition to Mr. Banis, the agenda includes presentations on the City of OKC Strong Neighborhood Initiative, Oklahoma’s Accessible Housing Needs from the Statewide Housing Needs Assessment, and a Case Study: Tracking Housing Accessibility (504) Requirements.  Click here for AGENDA.  Click here to register.

Continuing Education Credits are pending approval for attorneys (CLE), realtors, physical therapists and occupational therapists. CE’s approved for licensed social workers. Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency will accept this training as eligible HOME Training points on the 2018 HOME Application.

In April, the OHEC and collaborative sponsors are recognizing Fair Housing Month, Minority Health Month and National Public Health Week, April 3-9.
