In its 2010 Housing Affordability Study, the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency reports that despite a recent increase in the minimum wage, many working Oklahomans still struggle to pay rent or make mortgage payments. Just like in 2008, the last time OHFA conducted the study, most affected by the disparity are those working in food service and preparation; building and grounds cleaning and maintenance; and personal care and service occupations.  A person working in a child care center or as a groundskeeper, for example, may have difficulty affording rent or paying a mortgage in any of Oklahoma’s 77 counties.Okla_Housing_Study
