AARP Joins Aging Partnership to Issue Legislative Report.

The Oklahoma Aging Partnership (OAP), a non-partisan coalition between AARP Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Alliance on Aging, the Oklahoma Silver Haired Legislature Alumni Association and the Oklahoma State Council on Aging, has released its sixth annual legislative report on aging issues.

The report gives details on seven long-term care, home and community-based services, health and safety and grandparenting bills backed by the OAP that were signed into law by Governor Brad Henry. Those bills include closing a loop-hole in the state’s nurse-aide registry, refining the incentive reimbursement rate plan developed for nursing homes and adding a requirement that nursing homes immediately report suspected rape and criminal acts to local law enforcement officials.

A detailed record of how each member of the Oklahoma Legislature voted on these bills is included in the report along with a section that includes other legislation of interest.  Lawmakers were notified in advance which bills would be included in the report.

The OAP encourages people to read the legislative report, and share it with family and friends. Click here for report: http://bit.ly/AgingLegReport.
