Stimulus Information

Governor Henry has launched a website,
http://www.ok.gov/recovery/ that aims to provide the citizens of Oklahoma access to clear and concise information about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The website provides national-level information on the multiple funding streams in eight areas of government: budget stabilization, business and employment, education and research, energy and environment, health and human services, housing, transportation, and public safety. It also addresses some Frequently Asked Questions about Oklahoma's use of the stimulus package. The Governor has also just announced the formation of a coordinating council of agency directors and executive branch members to help oversee the use of federal stimulus funds. OK Policy had been out front in calling for creation of such an entity as a way to ensure input and transparency in the allocation of stimulus dollars.

Other valuable sources of information on the Recovery Act include:

  • OK Policy's detailed issue brief and summary table on ARRA, with Oklahoma-level information on allocations for over thirty funding streams; and
  • A new report from the Council of State Governments, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009: A Guide for State and Local Government.
