HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) invites the public’s suggestions and ideas for new research projects to be funded in Fiscal Year 2011 and beyond. Details here> http://www.huduser.org/portal/research/research_agenda_2011.html
They welcome suggestions for new research in Fiscal Year 2011 and beyond, especially in the following areas:
- Fair Housing
- Housing Finance
- HUD Effectiveness
- Project-Based Assistance
- Tenant-Based Assistance
- Sustainable Communities
- Homelessness
- Housing Tenure
- International Comparisons
- Special Needs
- Technology
- Urban Vitality
- University-Based Technical Assistance
There’s also a general category for comments and suggestions that fall outside of these research parameters. Through this outreach effort, PD&R is seeking greater participation on the part of constituents and stakeholders in helping to shape future research agenda. Please bear in mind, however, that this is not a request for proposals. Your participation can help the Department and the nation achieve the goals outlined in HUD’s Strategic Plan.
You can find examples of PD&R’s currently envisioned research (near-term) activity by viewing a list of planned FY 2010 research and demonstration projects. These cover such topics as pre-purchase homeownership counseling, homeless families intervention, rent reform, housing discrimination, mobility, Native American housing needs, rural innovation, and healthy neighborhoods.
