On January 10, 2024, HUD published a Proposed Rule in the Federal Register, enabling much-needed revisions and updates to the requirements governing the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Indian CDBG (ICDBG) programs.HUD’s Office of Block Grant Assistance (OBGA) is hosting virtual listening sessions on the Proposed Rule on February 20 and February 28, 2024.
Stakeholders interested in attending for an update or commenting on HUD’s Proposed CDBG Rule are strongly encouraged to read it in its entirety before joining the call. Interested persons may submit comments electronically through the Federal eRulemaking Portal. Other commenters and interested public members can view comments submitted electronically through the portal. Commenters should follow the instructions provided on that website to submit comments electronically.HUD will carefully review and consider each comment received on or before March 11, 2024, following the methods outlined in the Federal Register Notice.
