Enterprise has released guidance on prioritizing health outcomes in affordable housing through incorporating health strategies into states’ Qualified Allocation Plans (QAPs) — which layout each state’s eligibility priorities and criteria for awarding Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to housing developments. Enterprise’s Health Action Plan (HAP) framework provides affordable housing developers a process for integrating health into affordable housing design and development activities.
The new guide, Prioritizing Health Outcomes in Affordable Housing: A Guide on State Qualified Allocation Plans & Health Action Plans, can be used by affordable housing stakeholders and public health professionals to determine if a state’s QAP prioritizes health in design and construction of affordable housing and if not, the guide provides users with next steps to lift up health priorities.
