Every year, the State of Oklahoma seeks public input on the use of millions of public dollars. The Consolidated Plan is designed to be a collaborative process whereby the State establishes a unified vision for community development actions. It offers the State the opportunity to shape the various housing and community development programs into effective, coordinated community development strategies.
The vision outlines the state’s overall policies and objectives for housing and community development throughout the state. It also creates the opportunity for strategic planning and citizen participation to take place in a comprehensive context, and to reduce duplication of effort at the state level, and serves as a management tool that helps the state, local governments, and citizens assess performance and track results.
The Consolidated Plan approach is also the means to meet the federal submission requirements for Community Development Block Grant, HOME, Emergency Solutions Grant, Housing People with Aids, and National Housing Trust Fund.
