Urban League gets Capitol idea

Today, October 07, 2009, 11:00:03 PM(Journal Record-Article)
At NE 26th Street and Kelley Avenue, in the shadow of the state Capitol, the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City has made a stand. There, wedged into the surrounding neighborhood, the group has invested more than $5 million in a plan to bring a long stretch of Kelley Avenue back to life. It’s not a program; there are no meetings or committees. The Urban League has built housing. Known as the Capitol Square Villas, the 36-unit multifamily development features two- or three-bedroom “townhomes” ranging in size from 1,170 square feet to 1,350 square feet. The site includes computer stations, a library, playground and a facility for the league to provide services to residents. http://www.journalrecord.com/article.cfm?recID=103208
