Grants were made to 60 state, local and non-profit awardees in 29 states to protect children and families from home health hazards. These grants will help awardees address significant lead and health hazards in over 7,400 homes occupied by households earning up to 80% of their area median income, for which other resources are not available. In December, HUD awarded nearly $13.2 million in Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction grants to state and local government agencies in 3 states to identify and address health and safety hazards, including dangerous lead, in homes occupied by households with low incomes.
