Join the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for one of two workshops on RFPs. The events will be held in Afton in NE Oklahoma on February 14 and Guymon in NW Oklahoma on February 19.
The RFP workshop is a 2-hour hands-on presentation and workshop that helps Economic Development professionals, grant writers, businesses and community leaders find the information they need to respond to RFPs (Request for Proposals) from potential companies looking to expand. Attendees are walked through free publicly available resources and pull-down the information that is customized to their region. Computers are only limited to 12 right now. Folks are encouraged to bring their laptops. You will learn the best places to gather Census information, Business data and some custom reports on commuting patterns that you probably don’t know existed, for free.
Filling out Requests for Proposal can be a daunting task, but is critical in attracting businesses to your location. The workshop will include an overview of the RFP and site selection processes, followed by a hands-on tutorial with Department of Commerce researchers on sources, databases, and strategies to help you fill our RFPs for your own community.
Staff from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce will be available for questions and assistance after the workshop concludes.
