HUD issued a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO), making more than $3.1 billion in competitive funding available under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. This funding opportunity, which marks the largest amount of funding made available by the CoC Program, may be used by eligible organizations nationwide to provide supportive services and housing programs for people experiencing homelessness.
The FY23 NOFO allows grantees to renew existing and apply for new projects that serve people experiencing homelessness and to reallocate resources from lower-performing projects to serve better people experiencing homelessness. Additionally, the NOFO includes explicit funding for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness; and people experiencing the unique challenges of homelessness in rural areas.
Applications for the NOFO are due on September 28.
