Oklahoma City, Okla. — The Oklahoma Department of Commerce will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, beginning at 1:30 p.m. to receive comments on this year’s U.S. Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan. The hearing is sponsored by Department of Commerce Community Development Division, and will be held at the Biltmore Hotel, 401 South Meridian, Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Weatherization Program in Oklahoma helps low-income families reduce energy-related expenses and make alternative and more efficient use of their limited incomes. In addition to reducing expenses, the Weatherization Program will result in an overall decrease in the amount of energy consumed in the state and contribute to overall national conservation.
