The City of Oklahoma City is launching a comprehensive, city-wide housing study to assess current conditions, define opportunities, and establish priorities and policies. The first areas of concern will be our affordable housing segment and current impediments to fair housing choice. Our consultants, Economic & Planning Systems (EPS) and Root Policy Research, will be in town next week to kick-off the project and initiate stakeholder engagement.
We value your input on the study and are writing to invite you to attend one of two engagement sessions.
Session 1 Date: Tues, 6/18
Time: 3-4:30pm
Session 2 Date: Wed, 6/19
Times: 3-4:30pm
Location: 420 W Main St, OKC, OK 73102: Basement Conference Room.
Validated Parking: Sheridan/Walker Garage http://parkingokc.com/sheridan-walker
Each meeting will last approximately 1.5 hours.
Through these sessions, we seek to: identify private and public barriers to housing choice (including barriers to developing affordable housing); identify barriers in access to economic opportunity (e.g., transportation to quality schools, lack of child care during evening classes at community college); explore solutions to fair housing and affordable housing barriers.
You are receiving this email because you or your agency is known to have an interest in the subject matter, the study, and its results, and your presence and voice is important to the process and the success of the project.
Please let me know if you are able to attend (and which session) by responding to this email. Note that other engagement opportunities will be available in the coming months.
