PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING TRANSPORT TO/FROM TULSA
Tulsa is growing rapidly with new opportunities for creativity and entrepreneurship. Public and private investments are transforming several areas in the city. A group from Tulsa’s Young Professionals (TYPros), a citywide organization known for their Better Block-style Street Cred event, will guide ULI members on a tour featuring Tulsa entrepreneurs, developers, and civic leaders.
YL Exchange Itinerary – 9:00am-5:30pm (10/20/17)
- Downtown Tulsa Walking Tours – Led by the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture, choose between 2 tours: Historic Tax Credits in downtown Tulsa and downtown Tulsa Modern Architecture
- Lunch Panel with the Tulsa Mayor’s Office – Tulsa elected GT Bynum as the Mayor of Tulsa in 2016 and his visionary leadership has inspired an aggressive and proactive local government approach to bettering Tulsa. We will enjoy a catered lunch while engaging with several members of the Mayor’s office including Deputy Mayor and Chief of Community Development and Policy
- Downtown Tulsa Development with the Ross Group – With a recent focus on urban development, the Ross Group has been a key figure in the continued development of downtown Tulsa
- The Boxyard – One of Tulsa’s most recent additions, the Boxyard is a unique retail development comprised of shipping containers. A product of The Ross Group, we will hear from the developer about the project, and then we will catch an early happy hour at the Open Container bar
- Mother Road Market – The Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation recently announced plans to convert a warehouse into a market that will house local food shops, pop-up restaurants, children’s activities, event space, and a demonstration kitchen. We will tour the current space and gain insight on the future project
- Fuel 66 – A new food truck and bar stop along the Historic Route 66 highway we will have a discussion regarding the momentum along the 11th Street corridor, as well as a presentation on the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines coming to Tulsa.
- Tulsa Oktoberfest (optional) – after official programming is over, you’re invited to stay for this annual event, considered one of the top ten in the world!
